245,753 candidates to sit for JAMB mock exams

The upcoming mock exam is scheduled to hold on on Monday, February 26, 2018, while the definite UTME will hold between March 9 and 17.

The Joint Admission and Matriculation Board, JAMB has announced that only 245,753 out of over one million candidates that registered for 2018 UTME will sit for the upcoming mock exams.
The 2018 UTME mock exam is scheduled to hold on Monday, February 26.
Meanwhile, the Board's spokesperson, Dr
Fabian Benjamin in a statement released on Sunday, February 18 said that the mock examination would commence as planned, despite the ongoing strike by members of the Non-Academic Staff Union of universities.
He said, “The board has concluded arrangements for the conduct of the mock UTME, slated for Monday, February 26. This is irrespective of the ongoing strike embarked upon by members of non-academic unions of federal universities nationwide.
“We are still hopeful that an amicable resolution of the crisis would be reached before the date of the examination. The unions are our critical stakeholders and their absence would be felt if the issues were not resolved before the exams day.

“Candidates will soon be informed on when to print notifications for the mock examination and in addition, notifications will be sent through electronic mails and text messages.”
NASU refuses to cooperate with management on admission processes
Meanwhile, Samson Ugwoke, the Chairman of the Joint Action Committee (JAC) of the non-academic staff had said that the union would not cooperate with ongoing admission processes in the nation’s universities as long as the union's strike subsists.
