THE UNIQUENESS OF ALL HALL OF RESIDENCE IN OAU

 Apart from the fact that we all know that Obafemi Awolowo University is located in Nigeria in the southwest region, specifically in Ile Ife in Osun state. I will say ironically that OAU is another country on her own, another state on her own because their way and pattern of life is totally different.
When talking about the most beautiful campus in Nigeria, in Africa it is known that OAU is known as the most beautiful. The Architect that designed the great OAU campus is an Israeli, when we take a Critical look at the word ‘’Great Ife’’ and the school structure we would surely know that the name is not by any mistake created because all the buildings are not ground level, there is nowhere in OAU that you will want to go to that you will not climb a staircase.
Coming back to our topic: we have the total number of 8 undergraduates’ hall of residence in OAU 4 female hostels and 4 male hostels and this hostel all have their characteristics and their uniqueness

AWOLOWO HALL OF RESIDENCE

Awolowo hall of residence simply called Awo is known for ‘’Aro’’ making, they are kin g of jesters and they have their day for ‘’Aro’’ which is popularly known as ‘’Aro day’’. Also if you are looking for the federal capital territory of Obafemi Awolowo halls of residence do not waste your time kindly go straight to Awo hall.  Also Awo hall is a place where student go against the hall of residence rules and the wardens in duty will not be able to do anything against it e.g. in all hall of residence it is prohibited for any student to use any electrical appliances in the hostel, but today go to all the rooms in Awo hall most student use electric cooker for their daily cooking and moreover some student have their personal refrigerators’ in the hall and if you try that in any hall the appliance will be seized.


ANGOLA HALL OF RESIDENCE

As the hall is normally allocated to OAU fresher’s they are mostly JJC and they are new to the system, the hall of residence is popularly known as baby’s hostel.
 The occupant of this hostel out of my research they like what I term as ‘’Forming’’, maybe or to attract all the moz101 ladies (female fresher’s like them) For instance; they would go to canteen to eat most times not because they have the money or they cannot cook but they go there just to get the attention of other ladies like them they may even go to the extent of paying for their meals after eating.


FAJUYI HALL OF RESIDENCE

This is commonly known as ‘’Big boys’’ hostel because they dress corporately, live decently, low rich guy lifestyles, they life like that of an estate where there is no noise and always quiet always.
 There is this slang that, ‘’there is faaji in faj’’. Also student here don’t always cook in their hostel most times they either go and eat in new bukateria or buy snacks at butteries or have a call-girl that will always cook for them.


EDUCATION TRUST FUND (E.T.F) HALL OF RESIDENCE

This is OAU GRA because everywhere is always quiet, always quiet every time. And one thing about them is that their bathroom, toilet and rooms are always neat and one thing about them is that they don’t things in common that is everybody has its  own side of the room, stay in your side I also stay in my side.ETF  is specially made for those student who don’t like to share there things with other student who there are sharing their room with and also there is another thing common with those staying in E.T.F they always make a demarcation for their space.

MOREMI HALL OF RESIDENCE

This is a female hostel, and this is the female jesters hostel and moreover they are popularly known as ‘’Awo boys ‘’ wife simply because they are reciprocal of Awo in the sense that any boy that enters there hostel is in a very big trouble because they believe that the only thing that can bring a male to a female hostel is when is looking for his bae and for this course they will want to make jest of him.


ALUMNI HALL OF RESIDENCE

One thing that is not clear here is that I don’t know whether those that allocate bedspace for ladies in alumni always look inward into their credentials before allocating this hall of residence because all ladies here are very ‘’endowed’’ .
 Most times they always eat in canteen and their buttress


MOZAMBIQUE HALL OF RESIDENCE

This hostel is a female hostel meant for female freshers and they are also the opposite side of the Angola hall of residence (male fresher’s hostel).
Moz girls are girls who will cook in there room and pretends to guys as if anytime they want to eat they always eat in the canteen. Mehn! They like too they form oooooh.


AKINTOLA HALL OF RESIDENCE

There is no much talk here because there character is like that of Fajuyi hall (maybe because they are simply close to each other). And another thing that is peculiar to them is that those staying there are sport girls they like sport you will see them in the morning going for jogging, stretching and all other various form of sport. Enjoyment galore they always they always they oooh.
