Criticisms have been the best culture imbibed by Nigerians towards their government even before independence so it’s no new thing that they have continued in that way until now with no one realizing that although criticisms sometimes may be useful as an essential part of any democracy; without realizing that it also has its limitations.
I have come to realize that most citizens of Nigeria criticize their government in barbaric  ways which makes their criticisms inexplicable as most of them all in the  name of criticizing the government hurl abusive words at it(some even accompany them with curses)which is highly impious on their part.
In view of the present economic recession the country is currently facing it is important to note that the government receives criticisms on daily basis on why they haven’t got the economy fixed out yet from its state of comatose forgetting that it’s easier to get into a problem than getting out of it.
They criticize the government as if Nigeria is the only country whose economy is dwindling in the whole world presently. In past times Nigeria have experienced and survived economic downturn much more worse than the one we are currently experiencing, so that even sometimes i am tempted to ask myself that if we have survived through those times then why the brouhaha now?
While observing the critics of the government one would come to notice that sixty percent of them criticize without having a clear view on what’s happening in government thereby involving themselves in what i term “blind criticisms” instead of “investigative criticisms” which they neglect and jump to conclusions about government thereafter quickly rush to the media to speak on their cheap points which to them is the best way to criticize the government thereby gaining unwarranted attention from the quick to get supporters.
Although in every civilized society where democracy trends it’s the fundamental right of every citizen to speak against every policies which is not deemed to favor their general interest, but this right have been misused by mostly highly placed Nigerians who think they can speak ill of the government with ease and claim to be speaking against government policies whereas they are only creating grounds for themselves so as to score cheap political points ahead of any political post they might want to vie for in the near future.
Even some of the political offices holders we have in Nigeria are not left out in the game as most of them are best at criticizing the government at the higher levels even while they themselves would not accept any criticisms from  the people under their leadership.
Most of them go ahead to remind the government of the problems facing the country without proffering any solutions to the problems even those who manage to proffer some solutions proffer blind solutions.
While the government cannot be shielded from criticisms from the public as not all policies made by the government will always be in their interest, the citizens should be well informed before they criticize the government, their criticisms should be constructive and investigative so as to make a good deal out of the government and help reshape our country.
