NAFDAC arrests 10 for selling unregistered bread

Officials of the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control have on Friday arrested 10 persons in Port Harcourt , the Rivers State capital , for selling unregistered bread .

NAFDAC also impounded four vehicles used in selling the unregistered products in Rumuokoro , Rukpokwu and other places within Port Harcourt metropolis.

Officials of the agency , who operated with a team of policemen, went round major points where unregistered loaves of bread were sold to seize them .

Rivers State Coordinator of NAFDAC , Mrs Chinelo Ejeh , explained that the operation was part of the agency ’s regular routine , where unwholesome products were mopped up from circulation .

“In the early morning raid at the bread depots in Rumuokoro , Rukpokwu and other places within the Port Harcourt metropolis , NAFDAC officials , accompanied by a detachment of men from the Nigerian Police Force also confiscated the unregistered loaves .

Former Arsenal Player Jailed For Selling Heroin And Cocaine

Compiled by Ayomide °An ex-Arsenal youth player, Christian Toonga, has been reportedly jailed for two and a half years for selling heroin and cocaine for a gang of dealers. The 19 year old midfielder was forced to work for the Custom House gang when he was arrested at a property in Sherborne, Wiltshire, last year. reports made us to undersand that, he helped the gang to move into the home of a woman who felt powerless to resist them. The police raided the property and he was found with three wraps of cocaine, 29 wraps of heroin, £700 and mobile phones with text messages. INEC refutes negative insinuations on suspension of senator’s recall process

° Acting Chairman said relating INEC’s decision to the Senate’s intention to probe TETFUND was false and misleading. The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has refuted negative insinuations trailing its decision to suspend the recall process of Sen. Dino Melaye, representing Kogi West, in compliance with a court order. Prof. Okechukwu Ibeanu, National Commissioner and acting Chairman of INEC said in a statement he issued on Saturday in Abuja that the attention of the commission had been drawn to some media reports about its decision to obey the court order.
