LAW STUDENTS' REPRESENTATIVE COUNCIL LEGISLATIVE CONFERENCE
PRESS STATEMENT
The Law Students’ Society poses as the umbrella and unifying body of all Students of Law in the Faculty of Law, Obafemi Awolowo University. Its Legislative arm, the Law Students’ Representative Council meanwhile further buttresses the sacred objectives and essence of the Society through the organizing of a host of sessional programmes all aimed at breeding, enlightening and churning out students of law full-fledged and imbued not only with substantive and procedural law acumen but also legislative, leadership and administrative dexterity. Pursuant to these objectives, the instant Legislative Conference becomes imperative and epoch-making.
This Legislative Conference code-named “The Role of Parliamentarians in Nation Building” has a rich assemblage of seasoned intellectuals and scholars in the crucial subject matter of parliamentarianism including Prof. Pius Adesanmi, Director, Institute of African Studies, Carleton University. Canada, Hon. Adekunle Akinalde, Member House of Representatives, Hon. Ayo Omidiran, Member, House of Representatives, Hon. Rotimi Makinde, Rt. Hon. Mudashiru Obasa, Speaker Lagos State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Najeem Salam, Speaker, Osun State House of Assembly, Amb. Nasiru Adhama, SSA to the President on Youth and Student Matters, Hon. Highpoints of this conference will be marked by sound delivery of keynote speeches, Scientific Session involving paper presentations, Panelist discourses, and very essentially, the official launching of the first-ever Student-Legislative magazine code-named “The Mace” accounts for an equally indispensable point of the conference to the massive attention and admiration of all, including ten sister-tertiary institutions (UI, UNILAG, OOU, EKSU, AAUA, AJAYI CROWTHER, BEN IDAHOSA etc) already invited for participation at the conference.
