Do Not Worry about Your Life

Image
That is why I tell you not to worry about everyday life—whether you have enough food and drink, or enough clothes to wear. Isn’t life more than food, and your body more than clothing? Look at the birds. They don’t plant or harvest or store food in barns, for your heavenly Father feeds them. And aren’t you far more valuable to him than they are? Can all your worries add a single moment to your life?” (‭‭Matthew‬ ‭6:25-27‬, NLT‬‬). Do Not Worry: God Will Supply Your Needs God is a way-maker.  He is our great provider.  When we do not have a way to pay a bill or to provide for ourselves, God is always a step ahead of us creating a way.  In my twenty-something years of living, I have gone through enough to know that God will create something from nothing in order to establish and manifest His glory in our lives. I was homeless a few years ago.  I was unsure of how I would take care of my family because I was  unemployed  with zero dollars to my name.  There were plenty of tim

Colonization lasted until 1960, when an independence movement succeeded in gaining Nigeria its independence. Nigeria first became a  republic  in 1963, but succumbed to military rule in 1966 after a bloody coup d'état. A separatist movement later formed the  Republic of Biafra  in 1967, leading to the three-year  N

I won’t honour Senate summons –Sagay

The Chairman of the Presidential Advisory Committee Against Corruption, Prof. Itse Sagay (SAN), says the Senate lacks the power to summon him. He, therefore, lambasted the lawmakers for attempting to flex constitutional muscles which he said they did not possess. The Senate had on Wednesday proposed to invite Sagay for saying that senators were irresponsible and childish during an interview with  The PUNCH. However, the senior advocate maintained that he was not misquoted in  The PUNCH  report and therefore stood by his claim. He said he had not received any letter from the upper legislative chamber. The law professor said the senators were ignorant of Section 88 of the 1999 Constitution. He said, “I am waiting for the Senate summons. In any case, they don’t have the remotest of powers or authority to summon me because their power to summon people is very limited if you look at Section 88 and Section 89 of the constitution. “I don’t fall under the category of peo

Image
AS a business owner, you are required to keep accurate financial records of all activities for your company. It may not be fun but keeping financial records is a legal requirement when you are running a business, whether you are a sole trader, partnership or large corporation. As a business, you must make sure you are tax compliant, which also means keeping record of every transaction you make.  In addition to keeping you out of trouble with the tax man, these records will help you analyse the profitability of your business and maintain a smooth relationship with your customers and suppliers. Keeping records can be tedious especially in a fast-paced environment but failing to do so can cost a business dearly. Tor Amarto runs a barbing salon and beer parlour in Makurdi. Image
Buhari The Federal Government, yesterday,  said it would not disclose to Nigerians the medical expenditure of President Muhammadu Buhari in London, saying the information was too sensitive. It also set up a committee to interface with the National Assembly to mend the seemingly frosty relationship between the executive and the legislature. Also, yesterday, Federal Executive Council, FEC, approved the establishment of the West African Tax Administration Forum and okayed the $500 million Eurobond and also N403 million to procure water supplying vehicles for the Federal Fire Service. Seven bank accounts every family should have

Most people have two accounts, one savings, and the other, current. Have you ever considered opening more accounts to help you organise your money better? If not, then you should, according to http://funcheaporfree.com. You don’t have to have lots of money to do it. Family emergency savings:  As a rule, 20 per cent of your income should automatically go into savings each month, and this is the ultimate account for your savings. As a rule, this account is for absolute, dire “we are going to lose our house next week if we don’t do something” emergencies. Picture it as the fireproof apocalyptic vault hiding behind concrete walls in your basement, or the piggy bank you have to shatter to open. You should never touch this account unless it is your absolute last resort! And it should never be for anything that can be resolved in other ways, including paying off debt. Hopefully, you will never have to touch this account…but good thing you have it if you ever do. Savings money should be

Cossy orjiakor For sometime now, Nollywood’s acclaimed ‘Q ueen of Boobs’, Cossy Orjiakor has been on fire, venting her anger on her Instagram handle on how some actresses had betrayed her trust in the past. In a chat with Potpourri, the actress refused to mention names but affirmed that all the gossips she had been sharing on her Intagram handle were true life stories, concerning her and some actresses, and promised that a book would soon be released to confirm the authenticity of the stories. “I am only after people who hurt my reputation. Fans mock girl who professed love for Don Jazzy

Image
As a superstar music maker, MAVINS’ don, Don Jazzy, is a     man many women will go for in a big way. In fact many have professed love for the music guru but it seems none has been as desperate as a Netherlands-based Nigerian  woman who made a video of herself, crying and begging the music don to love and marry her. Her  video, which has since gone viral, is a pitiable sight of a woman desperately and hopelessly in love, begging and crying, telling the whole world of her undying love. Don Jazzy “I swear to God I’m in love with Don Jazzy. Please Don Jazzy love me. I am still single and you are still single, this is not funny. This is not a joke. I am in love with Don Jazzy (sobbing)” she said in tears, sobbing and wiping off the tears. But to many of Don Jazzy’s fans the girl is nothing but a big joke. Some had to mock her accent and her looks, saying she’s probably deranged. “Don Jasie? So, she no even fit pronounce the name of who she dey in love with? Issorite,”  says a fan

Nollywood actress cum producer, Omoni Oboli  got what she did not bargain for, last Friday night, when the premiere of her much-talked about movie, “Okafor’s Law” was stopped following a court injunction.                       Omoni Oboli  Recall that sometime in September, last year, the actress was accused of copyright infringement by a Canadian-based Nigerian script writer, Jude Idada. This infuriated  the representatives of Jude Idada, who took  the matter to court for copyright infringement and trademark violation. Unfortunately, for Omoni, while the guests were already present for the premiere, it was announced  that an injunction had been gotten to prevent the premiere of “Okafor’s Law” and also its release on March 31 with the 1st, 2nd and 3rd Defendants in the case, being Omoni Oboli, Dioni Visions and  Filmone Distributi
